Acne 101

What are comedogenic ingredients? Comedogenic ingredients are ingredients that clog the skin then forms inflammation, bacteria and all types of acne vulgaries.

How do I know comedogenic ingredients?

In my previous post i dropped list of comedogenic ingredients.
Now here is what i used to do before i came up with my skincare range.

I had the list in my home screen and when i went to get products from OTC i ran through every list and if I saw any one on the product I would drop it even if I saw non comedogenic written  on the lebals.

This includes shampoos, hair creams/sprays as well as makeup products.

This way you be sure what’s going on your face because you want to deal with the already existing ones rather than pile up new ones.

Knowing your comedogenic ingredients is the first key to acne freedom.

What is Acne?

Acne is a skin condition that can be likened to be hereditary which causes inflammation.

Inflammation is when there are lots of event underneath the skin trying to come out from same pore but can not come out due to clogged skin

What causes clogged pore?

Clogged pore is caused by excess production of sebum (oil) in the sebaceous gland. This oil tries to come out from the pore and gets trapped because either hair follicle is fighting to come out or the skin surface is trapped with debris and dead skin cells. Poor skincare routine and makeup products can also clog the skin.
